It was a lazy Sunday morning and the natives were getting restless. The weather outside was frightful, and of course, none of the toys were exciting, so what’s a parent to do? One of my favorite “go to” activities at times like this is to pull up a couple of chairs and let the boys splash around in the kitchen sink.
The allure of water is irresistible to little kids. Sometimes I’ll let them wash the dishes, which they love to do (we’ll see how long that lasts!), and other times we’ll throw in some action figures, plastic cups, and pretty much anything else that happens to be within arm’s reach. Will it sink or will it float?
“Sink time” can easily buy this frenzied parent a half hour break to enjoy a cup of coffee and read the daily news. And the best part is, it’s unplugged and totally free!
