What You Need:
- 2 cups Goya Masarepa (white corn meal)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups water
- Butter for cooking
- In a bowl, combine Masarepa, salt and water to form a dough.
- When the dough is mixed, let stand for 5 minutes.
- Form the dough into patties about 4-5 inches across and 1/2 inch thick.
- Coat a skillet with a small amount of butter.
- On medium heat, cook arepas until lightly browned on each side.
- Serve with cream cheese, butter or cheese.
