1. Pour soda into sour cream, mix and let stand.
2. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and beat well.
3. Add sour cream mixture and beat.
4. Add flour, vanilla and baking powder and beat again.
5. Grease and flower a bunt cake pan.
6. Pour 1/2 of batter in pan, top with topping mixture and swirl, repeat with remaining ingredients in the same order.
7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min.
8. Remove from the oven and put the cake on a cooling rack for 10 minutes and then remove from pan.
This coffee cake can be frozen or mailed to a friend! Yum!
